Kew Science Blog

Kew Botanic Gardens have a blog called “Kew Science” where many of the posts are on interesting plants and the research Kew scientists are pursuing about them.  For example, Gerhard Prenner, a researcher in plant morphology and anatomy, presented his studies on Abrus precatorius and other species in that genus.  They are native to Africa, Madagascar, India, and Indonesia.  The seeds of A. precatorius are highly poisonous, though they make beautiful necklaces, such as the one pictured in the blog post.
